12. How do I change my/my team's distance and fundraising goals?

You may update your distance and fundraising goals at any time during the campaign via your personal dashboard. Simply log in to your account and navigate to your profile dashboard, where you will find the option to edit your goals.

We encourage participants to set goals that are both meaningful and achievable. If your plans or availability change along the way, you can adjust your targets accordingly.

1. How does fundraising work?

-Every participant has a public profile. Friends, family, and supporters can:
– Donate to your walk
– Leave message posts on your profile (e.g., “You got this!”)
– Each message requires a donation, turning encouragement into real impact.

2. How do I share my profile?

You can share your unique profile link via social media, WhatsApp, or email to invite others to support your walk.

3. Are donations tax-deductible?

Donations of SGD 10 and above made to The Food Bank Singapore are tax-deductible, as FBSG is an Institution of a Public Character (IPC).
A 250% tax deduction will be applied based on the donation amount.
To process tax deductions, full NRIC is required.

Please note that the SGD 60 registration fee is not considered a donation and is not tax-deductible.

4. Is there a minimum donation amount?

Yes, the minimum donation amount is SGD 10 per donation made to an individual or team.

If you wish to support multiple participants, please note that each donation must meet the minimum amount individually.

5. If I am a corporate representative and would like to offer a one-to-one matching donation for employees’ contributions (employees registering individually) to The Hunger Gap Walkathon, how do I go about it?

You may choose to donate to multiple Walkers at once by selecting on all the usernames of the individuals you would like to donate to. Please note that when selecting multiple Walkers in a single donation, the same donation amount and message will be applied to each Walker. If you wish to vary the donation amount or message for different Walkers, you will need to submit separate donations.

1. Can I join the walkathon as a team?

Yes! You can participate as:

  • An individual
  • A member of an existing team
  • A team leader hosting/creating your own team

Teams make the walk more fun and help raise more support together.

2. How do I create a team?

During registration, select “Register as Team Leader.”
The Team Leader must sign up first to create the team code. Once registered, a unique Team Code will be generated, which you can share with friends, colleagues, and family to join your team.

Note: Team members need to sign up as individuals and input in the team code during registration.

3. How do I join an existing team?

Select “Join a Team” during registration and enter the Team Code provided by your Team Leader.

Note: You can only join a team after the Team Leader has successfully registered and created the team.

4. Is there a limit to how many people can join a team?

No, there is no limit to team size — you’re welcome to have as many members as you like.

5. Do team members choose their own distance goal and fundraising goal?

Yes.
Each member input their distance goal and contributes their own registration amount.
The Team Leader also sets an overall team goal (e.g. total distance or fundraising target) for the group. Individual distances will still count towards the team’s collective progress.

6. Do team members still get individual profile pages?

Yes.
Every participant has their own profile page where supporters can donate and leave encouragement messages.
A team page will also show the combined distance and total amount raised by all members.

7. Can I switch teams after registering?

No. Once you have joined or created a team, your team selection cannot be changed.

8. Do teams need to walk together in person?

No, this is a virtual walk, so team members can complete their distances anytime, anywhere.
It will be great, though, to have communities and teams walk together for a common cause that they believe in, and we would love to encourage that. Be sure to take pictures & videos of your walk so you can share these memories on social media, and hopefully garner more support for your friends and family to donate towards your effort. For team, we will track total distance walked collectively and you can still view your individual distance.

9. What is considered a group?

A group consists of 2 or more participants. This includes friends, families, and corporate groups signing up together.

10. How does the Team Leader edit the team's profile picture, name, distance/fundraising goal or password?

Only the Team Leader is able to update the team’s profile details.

After logging in, the Team Leader may navigate to the team dashboard to edit the team’s profile picture, name, and goals. Changes made will be reflected across the team’s profile.

11. How do corporate groups sign up?

Corporate groups may sign up individually using the team registration option. However, corporate groups who wish to register and make payment in one consolidated payment are required to sign up offline with Food Bank Singapore.
For corporate groups who wish to sign up as one group, please email hungergap@foodbank.sg for assistance.
